Dr. Ben Pyykkonen, PhD

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Benjamin Pyykkonen is a fellowship-trained clinical neuropsychologist and is actively engaged in research to advance our understanding of the experience and impact of various conditions and diagnoses. As a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly two decades of clinical experience in neuropsychological assessment across the lifespan with various presenting concerns, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury/concussion, Dementia of various types, epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and the cognitive and emotional impact of various medical conditions (e.g., cancer and its treatments).

As noted above, in addition to his clinical work, Dr. Pyykkonen is actively involved in research to better clarify factors related to accurate diagnosis and to understand better the cognitive and emotional impact of diagnoses/conditions across the lifespan, including Traumatic Brain Injury, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, dementia (Alzheimer’s, Dementia with Lewy Bodies, Frontal Temporal Dementia), and epilepsy. This academic work richly informs his clinical work and the effectiveness of his work as a clinical neuropsychologist in each evaluation. 

Dr. Pyykkonen believes that a careful and comprehensive neurocognitive/neuropsychological evaluation can effectively clarify diagnosis and greatly inform treatment planning and potential accommodations to enhance functioning and well-being.
